EMPLOYMENT HISTORY

March 2015 - Present M&E Site Construction Manager ENER-G Principal Contractors Darent Valley Hospital 1280KWe CHP Project Later seconded to Clatterbridge and Macclesfield Hospitals.

Responsible for the control of Subcontractors employed on the Construction CHP Project. Including reviewing all RAMS and Health and Safety, in accordance with Company Procedures towards the goal of zero injuries and zero defects. also include weekly inspections and the responsibility for weekly reporting and permits for work. Include all deliveries. Incontrol of subcontractors working on the installation of all mechanical and Electrical work including Water, Steam and Gas Pipework, covering all welding to relevant specification. Also include the'Tie in' to existing Gas, Steam and Water pipework, some ductwork was also completed. Hydro testing all pipe work. Electrical installation involved LV - HV Cables, Transformers and all relevant fixtures and fittings including testing.

Responsible for the control of Subcontractors employed on the Construction of 2 No sludge tanks and various Pipework and Electrical modifications and responsible for reviewing all RAMS Prior to handing over to the client Responsible for all Health and Safety in Accordance with Company Procedures towards the Goal of zero injuries and zero defects and doing weekly Inspections and Daily and Weekly Reports and Coordinate activities to maintain progress in line with the overall construction program.

Responsible for the control of Subcontractors employed on the Construction of 3 Bio Gas Projects in Yorkshire. In control of all Mechanical and Electrical Installations, including all Pipework, Hydro Testing, Glanding & Terminating plus installation of all instrumentation. Also, reviewing and Red Lining all P & ID Drawings with responsibility for reviewing all RAMS Prior to handing over to the client. Responsible for all Health and Safety in Accordance with Company Procedures towards the Goal of Zero injuries and Zero defects, doing weekly Inspections and Daily and Weekly Reports. Co-ordinating activities to maintain progress in line with the overall construction program.

Mar 2014 – Aug 2014 Mechanical Coordinator for Black and Veatch Dolbenmaen WTW Garndolbenmaen Nr Porthmadog

Construction of new Daf, RGF Dirty backwashand Sludge Tanks plus Chemical Dosing Rigs. Roles include, overseeing subcontractors in the erection of Pipework, Steelwork, Pumps and Vessels, working with close coordination with the Procurement Department for chasing up orders and with the Design Department to check that all contractors have all the correct revisions of Drawings on site. Also responsible for giving Site Inductions and reviewing all RAMS and COSHH assessments.

Responsible for the control of Subcontractors employed on the refurbishment of 3 Digesters and a Sludge Buffer Tank. Overseeing the erection of Stainless Steel pipe-work and Major Modifications to steel work including new access platforms. Also responsible for the liaison with the Costain Engineering Office to finalise all technical query’s. Witness all Hydro Testing and the punching out of all systems, responsible for health and safety.

Responsible for the inspection of various sites for DCWW (welsh Water). Witness of all Site Hydro-testing for final acceptance. Also responsible for the production of final defect lists and safety audits prior to handover. Then compiling and producing a report, complete with photographs for Welsh Water, for each site visited.

Overseeing Subcontractors with the installation of Instrument & Electrical Kiosks to filter beds for Thames Water. Reviewing all RAMS, issuing all permits, for confined space and hot work. Checking all certification prior to starting work and keeping control of all the required paper-work on a weekly basis, a general requirement for CDM sites for both Heath and Safety inspections.

The setting up of 2 sites for the start of construction for CDM. A pre-construction inspection, then overseeing the drilling of borehole and all various work. The start of underground pipe work and civil work before the arrival of the May Gurney Site Manager. A reference obtained from the MWH CDM coordinator is available for perusal on my web site.

In control of the Installation of a containerized Membrane Separation Effluent Plant. Including all associated Pumps, Valves, Tanks, Pipe-work and Supports. General Structural Steelworks Access Stairs, Platforms and all Mechanical works. The Installation of an Air Compressor, Safety Shower, GRP Kiosk, for a Caustic Dosing Plant and all their associated Valves, Pipe-work and Supports etc. Also a Laboratory / Scada Control Building, MCC Panels, Instrumentation and Control Equipment, Lighting and all Motors.

Overseeing and Supervising Subcontractors in the installation of Pumps, Pipe-work, Valves, Tanks, Vessels, plus sourcing any material shortages or problems. Punching out all systems prior to and after hydro testing, witnessing of all testing.
Also with QA/QC to review all records on and the signing off on completion with the contractor and client to obtain mechanical completion.
Reviewing Red Line drawings with all the test limits marked on them and ensuring all contractors are working to their Risk Assessment and Method statement to the client’s safe system of work. Also reviewing all RAMS and making corrections where required.

Re-employed by Bamag overseeing subcontractors on a small shutdown in Buzbach installing New and revised pipe-work supports and valves, also repairing various small steam leaks.

Jan 2010 - Feb 2010: Mechanical Supervisor

Employed on Basell Carrington on pre shutdown and shutdown activities. Preplanning, tagging up areas and equipment. Also opening up vessels, Heat Exchangers and tanks for inspection. Conducting various hydro testing on exchangers tube & shell side on various exchangers fixed tube hair pin, floating head and fin fans etc. Reinstating all when passed off by inspection. Also the extra control of another squad of men doing piping modifications and small steam leaks.

May 2008 - Jan2010: Mechanical Piping Superintendent Coordinator
BAMAG GMBH Shell Green Project. A Waste to Power-Renewable Energy Plant

Employed as Mechanical Supervisor on the erection of 2 new ESPs, Boiler, Pumps, Incinerator Tanks, Columns, Vessels & Interconnecting Ductwork, Pipe-work, Supports and Insulation. The erection of a temp Fabrication, Paint shop also used for inspections and assessment. Also checking for any clashes with steel work & cable tray routes. Punching out all systems prior to and after hydro testing upon completion. Reviewing all welding tests and procedures to ASMI standards with the third party and client when required. Also reviewing all Method Statements and Risk Assessments prior to submitting them to the principal contractor for acceptance. The completing of a weekly safety Audit, signing off all documents on completion.
